We now have 300 dance competitions on the Stage Lark platform, all catered for school-aged children. This month, we have added a number of comps that are taking place in NSW, QLD and VIC, and have provided you with an overview of what’s closing in April, so you don’t miss those all-important cut-off dates.

Dance competition entries closing this month

If you’re planning to take part in any upcoming events, now’s the time to register. These are the competitions and eisteddfods with entries closing in the next month:

New to Stage Lark

New South Wales

Hawkesbury City Eisteddfod 2026 – Held 26 July to 2 August in Windsor, this festival showcases a range of dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and lyrical.

New England Dance Eisteddfod 2026 – Taking place 27–31 May in Armidale, this eisteddfod features ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, lyrical, and hip hop competitions across various age groups.

Sydney West Dance ChallengeWe’ve added two events for the Sydney West Dance Challenge. Both events take place in St Marys – the first on 17 May, while the second runs from 9 – 30 August.

Sydney Eisteddfod 2026 – Running 20 June to 16 August in Chatswood, this major festival covers multiple performing arts, with dance categories in ballet, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, and tap.

Queensland

Australasian Dance Association QLD State Awards – Scheduled 27–28 June in Townsville, this event brings together dancers from across Queensland to compete in a high‑level, syllabus‑based competition.

Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) National Championships 2026 – Running 30 July to 2 August in Brisbane, the ATOD National Championships is the pinnacle event for ATOD dancers, showcasing the best performers from around Australia.

Victoria

Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod 2026 – This multi‑arts eisteddfod runs from 2 -13 August 2026 in Albury-Wodonga (held at the Albury Entertainment Centre/theatre venues).

West Gippsland Dance Festival 2026 – Held 18 – 27 September in Warragul, this festival features ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and tap across various age divisions.
